Frequently Asked Questions for Parents

What makes Groove Move Kids Unique?

We appreciate that there’s a number of enrichment and value-add programs for schools and childcare providers, and children and parents, to choose from. Groove Move Kids serves to inspire and motivate broad interest and knowledge within children, rather than foster a specific interest or skill development in any one sport, movement activity, or dance form. The benefits of Groove Move Kids serve children well in both academic and social settings, and in any sport, activity, or dance effort they may choose to pursue in tandem to Groove Move Kids or later in life. Our talented, top-notch Instructors inspire our Groovers and Movers through a class structure that is highly motivational, empowering, fun, and challenging.

How are Groove Move Kids classes scheduled?

Typically, classes are held on a weekly basis for 45 minutes. Programs are 6 weeks in length. Class/program scheduling is coordinated between Groove Move Kids and your child’s school or childcare center. The first class of every program is always a complimentary trial class for new Groovers and Movers. Everyone benefits from our no risk, no obligation introduction and allows you and your child to explore Groove Move Kids before making a commitment.

What if my child is absent and misses a Groove Move Kids class?

Groovers and Movers are allowed 1 makeup class per 6 week program—you will receive a class credit for the next scheduled program.

What are your Instructor to child ratios?

In alignment with State of California childcare rules and regulations, Groove Move Kids Instructor to child ratios are as follows:
Pre-School Aged Children 1:12
Pre-School Aged Children with Aide 1:15
School-Aged Children 1:14
School-Aged Children with Aide 1:28
Please Note: Groove Move Kids prefers to keep class size to no more than 15 children.

What communications from Groove Move Kids can I expect to receive as a parent?

Groove Move Kids will provide your child’s school or childcare center with posters announcing our upcoming programs and sign-up details. Information will also be shared on a regular basis through parent handouts. You can look for our “This Week at Groove Move Kids” poster which will showcase activities and skills learned. We also send parents a weekly email and class recap, as well as a music playlist, so you can share the Groove Move Kids experience with your child at home.

Where do Groove Move Kids classes take place?

Typically, Groove Move Kids classes are held during your child’s regular school or childcare day, onsite at your school or childcare provider. We know parents appreciate this, as there’s no additional time or scheduling burden.

What is your class and/or program pricing?

Cost breakdown is $25 per child, per class. The first class of every 6 week program is always a complimentary trial class for new Groovers and Movers. When your child chooses to continue, the remaining 5 classes of their first 6 week program are $125. On an ongoing basis, the cost is $150 for each 6 week program. We do offer a sibling discount—$120 per 6 week program ($20 per class).

What if Groove Move Kids or my child’s school or childcare center needs to cancel a class?

If for any reason a class needs to be cancelled, Groove Move Kids and your child’s school or childcare center will work to reschedule during the current program. If rescheduling proves challenging, you’ll receive notice of a class credit for the next scheduled program.

What should my child wear to a Groove Move Kids class?

Children are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes, preferably tennis shoes, to Groove Move Kids classes. Children will be most comfortable in pants, leggings, or shorts, as we will roll, jump, and cartwheel often! However, specific or special attire is not required for participation in our classes.
